Physical Education (PE) develops the pupils' knowledge, skills and understanding so that they can perform with increasing competence and confidence in a range of physical activities. These include dance, games, gymnastics, athletics and outdoor adventure activities. PE promotes an understanding in pupils of their bodies in action. It involves thinking, selecting and applying skills, and it promotes positive attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle. Thus, we enable the pupils to make informed choices about physical activity throughout their lives.

Each week all classes spend at least two hours on curriculum physical education which is taught in mixed gender groups. Pupils are taught that a competitive spirit is important and that good sportsmanship is equally as important. We encourage our pupils, particularly at Key Stage 2, to take part in our many sporting after school clubs and to represent the school in our sports teams. The school participates in the inter-schools Jersey leagues for football and netball. It also competes with other schools in athletics, cross-country, Tag Rugby and Kwik Cricket.
