Role: Nursery Team Leader (2-3 Year Provision)

The Governing Body of FCJ Primary School is delighted to invite applications for the role of Nursery Team Leader as we launch an exciting new 2-3-year-old provision. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and passionate practitioner to take on a leadership role from the very beginning, shaping a high-quality, nurturing environment for our youngest learners.

Rooted in our mission to “teach the children with all the kindness and gentleness possible,” the Team Leader will lead the planning, delivery, and ongoing development of the provision, combining hands-on practice with strong leadership.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess significant experience in Early Years, particularly with 2-3-year-olds.
  • Hold a Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Early Years/Childcare.
  • Hold a Management/Team Leading Qualification (minimum Level 2) or be working towards this.
  • Have a strong understanding of child development and Jersey Early Years frameworks.
  • Lead and inspire the nursery team, fostering a culture rooted in Excellence and Gentleness.
  • Model outstanding Early Years practice and provide guidance and coaching to colleagues.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day organisation, including staffing and routines.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers based on trust and openness.
  • Be committed to promoting the Catholic ethos and FCJ Values.

FCJ Primary School is seeking an experienced and inspiring Early Years practitioner to support our new 2-3-year-old provision.

The Governing Body of FCJ Primary School invites applications for the role of Nursery Officer. You will support the care, learning, and development of children aged 2-3 years, helping to create a warm, secure, and nurturing environment at a vital stage in their early development.

Working closely with the Nursery Team Leader, you will deliver high-quality, play-based learning experiences that promote curiosity, communication, and emotional wellbeing.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young children, preferably aged 2-3.
  • Hold an Early Years Level 3 Qualification with evidence of assessed practice.
  • Provide a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where children feel secure.
  • Support the delivery of engaging, play-based learning experiences.
  • Help children develop in prime areas, particularly communication and physical development.
  • Support children’s personal care needs with sensitivity and dignity.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with parents and carers.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and dedicated team.

Role: Nursery Assistant (2-3 Year Provision)

FCJ Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and inspired Early Years practitioner to work in our new 2-3-year-old provision.

As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the day-to-day care and wellbeing of children aged 2-3 years by assisting with routines, play, and activities under the guidance of senior staff.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young children (preferably aged 2-3).
  • Hold an Early Years Level 2 qualification with evidence of assessed practice.
  • Engage positively with children through talking, listening, and playing alongside them.
  • Assist with children’s personal care routines, promoting dignity and independence.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised environment.
  • Demonstrate a warm, nurturing, and attentive approach.
