Role: Nursery Assistant (2-3 Provision)

The Governing Body of FCJ Primary School is delighted to invite applications for the role of Nursery Assistant as we launch an exciting new 2-3-year-old provision at FCJ Primary School.

FCJ Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and inspired Early Years practitioner to work in our new 2-3-year-old provision. In this role, you will support the care, learning, and development of children aged 2-3 years, helping to create a warm, secure, and nurturing environment at a crucial stage of their early development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young children, preferably aged 2-3.
  • Hold an Early Years Level 2 qualification with evidence of sufficient assessed practice.
  • Be kind, patient, and passionate about working with young children.
  • Be a strong, reliable team player able to support play-based learning.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and the FCJ values and ethos.

Role: Teacher One Year Temporary Contract (Parental Leave Cover).

The Governing Body of FCJ Primary School wishes to appoint a highly motivated Teacher to cover parental leave, for 1 year on a temporary contract.

FCJ Primary School is a warm, vibrant, and welcoming community. We are an exciting, highly successful, Catholic co-educational primary school. Our wonderful pupils are friendly, happy and have a thirst for learning. We offer the opportunity to work within an inspirational, committed, and supportive staff team.

This vacancy is open only to teachers with Jersey residential qualifications, with a start date of September 2026.

The successful candidate will:

  • possess Qualified Teacher Status
  • hold a Degree/PGCE or equivalent qualification
  • ideally, be a practising Catholic or be supportive of the school’s Catholic Ethos
  • be an outstanding classroom practitioner

Role: Teaching Assistant

The Governing Body of FCJ Primary School wishes to appoint a highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic, friendly, and dedicated team.

FCJ is a highly successful mixed Catholic private school and pre-school.  In this role, you will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to implement planned work programmes, enable access to learning for individuals and groups, and support children’s development in a safe, secure, and challenging environment. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess a relevant qualification in Childcare and/or Education (e.g., Level 3 Diploma or NVQ Level 4).
  • Have a proven track record of working with children in a school setting, including those with a wide variety of educational needs.
  • Display a real enthusiasm for working with children and helping them to succeed.
  • Be able to assist children on an individual basis, in small groups, and during whole class work. 
  • Demonstrate a flexible, positive approach, along with good organisational skills.
  • Ideally, be a practising Catholic or be supportive of the school’s Catholic ethos.
