The Governing Body of FCJ Primary School wishes to appoint a dynamic, inspiring, and experienced Senior Leader/SENDCo to join our vibrant and forward-thinking team.  This vacancy has arisen due to the recent promotion of our long-standing SENDCo. The successful candidate will be committed to promoting the Catholic ethos of our school, and a highly effective Senior Leader/SEND practitioner.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate high-quality provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school. The SENDCo ensures that all children with additional needs are supported to make excellent progress within a caring, inclusive learning environment rooted in Catholic values and teachings.

 

This position requires a passionate educator to join the school Senior Leadership Team and will ideally hold a NPQ for SENCo/NASENCo qualification (or is currently working towards this).  The candidate will have proven SEND capabilities, strong communication skills, and a deep commitment to inclusion.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and hold a Degree/PGCE or equivalent qualification.
  • Have (or be actively working towards) the NPQ for SENCo/NASENCo qualification.
  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • Exemplify the qualities and attributes of an outstanding leader and lead by example to empower staff to develop their skills.
  • Hold a proven track record of contributing to school improvement strategies.
  • Have extensive experience of SEND provision and effective leadership of a subject or key area.
  • Hold a strong, current understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice.
  • Be able to lead, inspire, and strategically support staff to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Build warm, supportive relationships with children and families.
  • Be committed to promoting the Catholic ethos and FCJ Values.
  • Ideally be a practising Catholic or be fully supportive of the school’s Catholic Ethos.
  • Hold a genuine interest in pastoral care and well-being for both pupils and staff.
  • Possess a sound understanding of school policies and procedures.
  • Display a willingness to lead and support extracurricular activities.
  • Be willing to undertake further training and qualifications as the role requires.

Role: Upper KS2 Class Teacher

The Governing Body of FCJ Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic, and capable Upper KS2 Class Teacher to join our school.

Our wonderful pupils are friendly, happy and have a thirst for learning. We offer the opportunity to work within an inspirational, committed, and supportive staff team.

This vacancy is open only to teachers with Jersey residential qualifications, with a start date of either 20 April 2026, or 01 September 2026.
